SABT is the provisioning of high bandwidth interfaces over shared SONET infrastructure facilities. In instances where users are in need of such high-rate interfaces (=> DS3) and cannot justify investment in a dedicated private network solution, BA's SABT offering should be given strong consideration. The service can be offered with varying levels of protection and service guarantees.

The two different types of network assurance are:

• Basic Service Option
  
  • carries no fiber or intermediate electronics protection
    
  • has a 4 hour Special Access Service Guarantee (SASG)
    
  
  
• Fiber Path Diversity Service Option
  
  • provides fiber protection only
    
  • a 1 + 1 Fiber Path protection (4 fiber only) at the interface level which provides a standby protection card for automatic protection from a fault in the working card.
  • has a 1 hour Special Access Service Guarantee (SASG)
